Prologue/Gratitude

Shortly before Christmas break 2009, I found myself in a life crisis resulting from the lack of study-abroad options in the SU nursing program, when I received a phone call from Lindsey proposing we travel to Honduras with Unite For Sight (UFS) to deliver eye care to needy populations. Six months later, after utilizing my impressive time-management skills begging for donations and eye glasses (100% of which go directly to the communities UFS serves), toiling away on required "modules," and stressing over the completion of other volunteer requirements, I find myself with a round trip ticket to Tegucigalpa and all the adventures around it. I must say, I might have perished just trying to prepare for the trip were it not for the support and generosity of good family, good friends, and good businesses, so a huge thank you goes out to you all. Hopefully this blog will serve as a way to keep anyone who is mildly interested (especially my dear mother) informed about the experience.
